The necklace is hand knotted on double strands of 3-ply z twist silk jewelers thread and finished with a 14K gold filigree clasp and French wire. The earrings are made with gold filled findings. These white pearls have just a hint of pink in them which is enhanced by the magenta/red of the rubies. The pearls are exquisite, luminous and almost entirely blemish free.
The title of this necklace is "Firenze" (Florence) as the regularly repeating pattern of pearls and rubies reminds me of the order found in Romanesque Florentine architecture. This necklace has a regal look.
