Ruby Gemstone Charm - July Birthstone - Ruby Necklace

I hand made this genuine ruby charm with all sterling silver parts. The natural red gemstone is faceted and is slightly translucent. It will look great worn alone or next to your favorite charm!

Ruby is the traditional birthstone for July and is the color of love. It is also associated with the first, or root, chakra that is located at the base of the spine. This energy center is the place of balance, patience, and strength. Rubies aid with feeling connected to the physical world and stability.

This small charm has a 5mm sterling silver soldered closed ring that should fit nicely on any chain. It is very lightweight. The charm measures 11mm including the ring or just about 7/16” long. The stone measures approximately 3mm x 6mm.

Vintage Signed Sarah Coventry Necklace Ruby Red Glass Acrylic Stone Gold Tone

Absolutely stunning. 29" to the bottom of the pendant which itself is a little over 1 inch long. In the center is a brilliant red prong set stone. Not sure if it is glass or lucite, but stunning just the same. A really neat feature of this pendant is that it is attached by a sturdy spring ring clasp in case you want to attach it to another chain or wear the chain alone. Just gorgeous.

Green chrysoprase and ruby in fuchsite briolette necklace with sterling silver clasp

chrysoprase and ruby on fuchsite necklace.

Length - 24 inches.

This lovely necklace is sure to get noticed, with it's stunning green chrysoprase fuchsite briolettes. These briolettes are gorgeous faceted with inclusions of real ruby throughout. I wired these briolettes to the main strand of chrysoprase so they can dangle and move beautifully when worn. I also two tiny ruby roundels so they echo the ruby in the briolettes.
All gemstones are wired with sterling silver wire and the clasp is handmade by myself using sterling silver wire.

This necklace is strange and hauntingly beautiful. It comes with a chain so small it could only fit around an infant or young child's neck (trust me, I tried it on mine and even my chicken neck couldn't handle it). And the stone is an unknown... possibly Ruby, possibly Almandine or it could be several other red semi-precious stones. It's rich in color, glittering and gorgeous, set into a golden-hued metal cradle. The stone itself is very small as is the setting and chain, which is why I figured it may be baby jewelry. And what a beautiful thing to place around your child's neck at that!

I find it charming and there's something very... Middle Eastern about it. A pretty thing which could of course be placed on a longer chain if you wished to wear it yourself. Love it.

☛ Are your Chains SOLID sterling silver?
This is a good question in the particular venue we are in.
Absolutely! All of my Chains are made from 92.5 Sterling Silver mostly Italy and some US, never from nickel silver or silver filled, not silver plated, or silver chain color, antique silver or sterling silver plated, that is confusing.
With the price of silver increasing by the day (and at a record high) please beware of sellers with low prices and vague material descriptions. Many large jewelry suppliers are offering silver filled raw materials for the first time ever. These all ready started to show up in many shops. If a price seems too good to be true...please check the fine print!
The sterling or 925 quality mark that is stamped directly on the object or attached as a tag indicates that the entire piece is sterling Silver, it is again the CANADIAN and US LAW sell jewelry products stamped 92.5 that are not solid Sterling Silver; if a piece is marked or has an attached tag that says “sterling” or “925,” it must be SOLID sterling Silver, not sterling silver plated or sterling silver filled which last 2 to 6 months then will turn dark.

More about Sterling Silver:

The law states that Sterling is a quality mark which actually is supposed to meet a standard that 92.5 % of the product is Silver.This means that items advertised as sterling over base metal is an unlawful use of the word sterling. Other unlawful uses meant to confuse the readers would be that the product is Sterling over brass or some other metal.
Both of the examples are using a small amount of silver (if indeed any) over a larger amount of some other metal are misapplying the word Sterling.

Furthermore, many vendors advertise solid sterling but in fact their products will not meet the standard of 92.5 percent content of silver. This is known as undercoating. This is also an unlawful practice, but much harder to spot. When you see the term "Silver Plated" or "Sterling Plated" used you will not get a product with "92.5 Sterling Silver". Long ago it was ruled out as proper terminology. A good indication that products are misrepresented are if the seller uses incorrect terminology in their listings.

☛ Why Cubic zirconia is so popular now?
Why is cubic zirconia (CZ) quickly becoming more popular as a desirable substitute for diamond? Gemologists can agree that CZ comes closer than any other gem material to matching the characteristics of a diamond. Most people, even trained gemologists, cannot tell the difference between diamond and CZ, with the naked eye. Moreover, to the untrained eye, CZ looks identical to a good quality diamond. However, under closer inspection, CZ appears to have slightly less brilliance (or sparkle) than a diamond. I wish a had a better camera for taking these picture. Rhinestone is cheap and chips easy cubic Z is higher quality and has guarantee to last.

Vintage steampunk skeleton key assemblage necklace with faceted glass ruby, smoke, milk glass and amethyst beads

One of a kind vintage skeleton key assemblage necklace.
This is a repurposed piece consisting of an ornate Victorian skeleton key as the focal point.
The chain consists of faceted glass clear, smoke and milk glass beads. Some beads are adorned with filigree caps and rhinestone rondels.
There are glass ruby drops dangling from the chain and key. The key also has an amethyst ,crystal bead and rhinestone rondel drop.
The top choker section is centered with a rosary connector.
The overall chain is a brass patina.
This lovely creation would suit any style from steampunk to Victorian country lady.

This is a hand made item using antique, vintage and new components. It my show some signs of age, especially in it's patina which adds to the overall charm of the piece.

Love is in the air - Baroque red heart necklace - sterling silver and natural gemstones, OOAK

One Of A Kind baroque heart necklace, made in the honour of the approaching Valentine's Day. It incorporates many hours of work and many juicy gemstones. So it features:

- 1 dark red almandine garnet cabochon (9 mm)
- 1 deep red faceted almandine garnet (5 mm)
- 5 burned orange faceted hessonite garnets (4 mm)
- 1 natural star ruby cabochon (6 mm)
- 1 faceted natural ruby drop in a handmade setting
- 1 orange carnelian cabochon (8 mm) in claw setting
- 2 vintage red rose glass cabochons, made in made in Czechoslovakia circa 1930 (6 mm)

All the metal used is sterling silver.

I gave the pendant a faded black patina, to bring out the stones.

The pendant measures approximately 45 X 50 mm (1.8 x 2 inches) and hangs from a 48 cm (19 inches) sterling silver chain. It is ready to ship and will arrive beautifully packed, ready for gift-giving.
