This coin is in amazing condition. It is very large and symmetrical- 32 mm in diameter and weighs over16 grams and is solid silver

it is from ISLANDS off THRACE, Thasos. Circa 90-75 BC. . depicting the Wreathed head of young Dionysos (God of wine!)
the details are so clear- look at the hearts in his crown and his stunning profile
and on the back Herakles standing facing, head left, holding club in right hand, lion skin draped over left arm.
the strike is facing the same direction on both sides- so the necklace can be worn on both sides- who ever made this coin way eons ago didnt realize the jewelry options he would provide in the far distant future!
I have wrapped this beauty in a thick strip of fine silver and it has ta wide loop of sterling on top as a bale
It attaches to a strand of natural shaded rubies- these are not dyed- just natural color- shading from a deep red to a deep pink and slightly graduated in size

The beads attach in the front with large sterling clips.
and the fun part is that this can be snapped off and changed with a thick sterling chain also with clips- for different outfits... different moods
Necklace length is 18 inches for the silver, and 17 inches for the rubies
