POPPY Pendant
Oxidized Sterling Silver, 9 x7mm Oval Facetted Ruby approx. 2.77ct(Heat treated and Fracture-filled)

This is one of my all-time favourite pieces! I crafted it in the winter of 2008/09 and it made its "big debut" on a Toronto Fashion Runway in 2009. It has an equally modern flare as well as an antique look--it's a little Steam-Punky or Goth but its also quite elegant and organic looking. It'll play nice with many personalities, wardrobes and styles--POPPY's a bit of a chameleon that way :)
POPPY measures approximately 30mm at its widest points making it a dramatic and unique statement necklace. A very pretty Ruby (heated and fracture-filled) graces its centre in a secure four-prong setting. The stone is an appealing magenta/red that's colour shifts depending on the light. The stone is very shiny so the photo shows white reflections of the tines and light--the stone does not contain white patches or any surface blemishes!
POPPY has a very generous "hidden double bale" that could easily accommodate a thicker chain or cord, but it comes with an 18" 1.5mm chain, ready to wear.
