This antique pendant Art Nouveau necklace features a huge deep red glass stone set in swirling curves of textured brass and overlaid with detailed leaf and berry clusters. These organic, swirling nature-themed shapes were favorite motifs of the Art Nouveau era. Two small deep red faceted glass stones punctuate the top and bottom of the pendant. An antique brass chain secures all.
Back is also beautifully detailed with curves and two small stars on the bottom. Unmarked, but based on the materials and composition, this is likely Czechoslovakian. A beautifully detailed antique pendant in a fantastic color.
Pendant measures 2 inches (about 5cm) in length and 1.5 inches (3.8cm) at the widest point. Total length including chain is 12 inches (30.5cm) from top to bottom, when closed. When open and extended, the total chain length is 20 inches (51cm).
In very good condition but be aware that the leaf and berry "prongs" are quite delicate when cleaning this piece. I recommend a soft flannel cloth... I think microfiber could snag the leaves too easily. There are two small shallow chips less than 1mm in length and width along the back of the glass stone... these are not visible when worn due to the deep color and faceting, but I mention them for accuracy.
