The evil eye is very symbolic, dating back thousands of years and found in almost every culture and faith. The belief is especially strong in the Mediteranian region, Europe, Middle East, East and West Africa, South Asia and Central Asia.
It is believed that there are three types of evil eyes, the first are unconscious evil eyes. These harm people and things, without intent to do so. The second type is with the intention to harm others or things. The third one is unseen, hidden evil which is the most feared one. Evil eye talismans or amulets are created to ward off the "evil eye", give good luck and protection to the wearer.
I adore the symbology of the evil eye. I am of Greek decent and grew up with the culture and having the evil eye around the house for protection and also in jewelry form. Greeks are very superstitious. That is why you will see these in my shop. I love making them, it brings me back to my roots.
MATERIALS- Shiny finish, gold bronze with the look of 14k (shown in last photo next to a 14k chain- not included). This particular type of bronze is slower to tarnish than sterling silver. Polish as you would your fine jewelry and put in a ziplock bag when not wearing.
SIZE- 18.9 X 12.3mm not including bail.
BAIL RING SIZE- 2.8 mm
Designed and made by me; each piece one at a time, from pure gold bronze clay, forming and shaping, drying, sanding, firing at 1560 degrees, sanding again and final polishing. Each piece is unique and no two will be exactly alike :).
