The beauty of the mala lies in the stones. In Sanskrit the word for ruby is ‘ratnaraj’ which loosely translates to ‘king of gemstones’. Ruby encourages passion and a zest for life. Amazonite's energy is as powerful as the river for which it is named, and as bold as the legendary women warriors with whom it is connected, yet it tempers aggression, tames the irrational, and stills the disquiet. A primary stone of the Heart Chakra, Pink Tourmaline links to the Crown Chakra infusing love and spirituality, encouraging compassion and gentleness during periods of growth and changes as humanity works toward enlightenment. And finally, sacred Rudraksha beads, meaning "eye of Shiva" or "tears of Shiva" in Sanskrit, have been worn by Sages and Yogis since Vedic times for their profound spiritual significance and powerful healing properties.
