Ruby hearts necklace with Swarovski crystal and red turquoise

This is a gorgeous hand made tassel necklace made with two types of ruby, red turquoise, Swarovski crystal and silver plated findings. It is adjustable at 40-45cm with a chain and lobster clasp.

Tiny genuine faceted Rough Finished Ruby pendant (approximately 5 mm/0.196 inch) threaded on a delicate Sterling Silver chain, with a tiny white pearl added to the clasp.

PLEASE NOTE - These faceted Ruby at this grade are NOT perfect cut!! I love this gemstone and the natural rough look of the stone that makes it so unique and different then clear glass! Some are darker than others and some are more ruby red in variety of shades, size and shape. I choose the stone randomly!

As the Ruby is a difficult gemstone to work with, they might have small scratches and natural tiny crystal, brown/ black droplet or bubble within the stone!!!

A ruby is a pink to blood-red colored gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum (aluminium oxide). The red color is caused mainly by the presence of the element chromium. Its name comes from ruber, Latin for red. Other varieties of gem-quality corundum are called sapphires. The ruby is considered one of the four precious stones, together with the sapphire, the emerald, and the diamond.

Prices of rubies are primarily determined by color. The brightest and most valuable "red" called pigeon blood-red, commands a large premium over other rubies of similar quality. After color follows clarity: similar to diamonds, a clear stone will command a premium, but a ruby without any needle-like rutile inclusions may indicate that the stone has been treated. Cut and carat (weight) are also an important factor in determining the price. [source: wikipedia]

All chains and clasps are 14k Gold Filled or Sterling Silver.
All charms are 22k Vermeil or Sterling Silver.
Bezels, Wire Wrapped Genuine Gemstones are 22k Gold Vermeil or Sterling Silver.

SO MANY PRECIOUS METALS. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

VERMEIL is Sterling Silver with a 1-2 micron plating of 18k - 24k gold on top.

GOLD FILLED is an actual layer of gold, pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating, as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold!

STERLING SILVER is 92.5% pure silver with some base metal for strength.

FINE SILVER from the Thai Karen Hill Tribe is 97-99% pure silver, a little softer than sterling but very tarnish resistant.
